International Traditional and Dragonboat races, M´Bao, Senegal 2-5 March 2011

12 December 2010
Dear Dragon Boat Friends and Colleagues,

Do you want a new challenge for 2011? Then forget climbing Mount Kilimanjaro in East Africa or trekking in Nepal. Come instead to M´bao, a fishing village in Senegal, near the Capital Dakar, where the sun will be high in the sky and the temperatures both on land and sea lovely and warm.

The IDBF in the shape of Dragon Boat San Frontiers, in partnership with Kayak-Sans-Frontiers (KSF), are holding an international boating event there from March 2nd to March 5th 2011, with racing in both dragon boats and traditional wooden boats, as well as helping to clean up the river estuary and replant the river banks of the village.

We are looking for Dragon Boaters to help us with the environmental clean-up; to teach the local villagers how to race a Dragon Boat and to enter your own crews in the festival type races, to be held on the sea .

All will be more than welcome, so why not come to M´bao, do some racing and help the villagers to enjoy Dragon Boating too and at the same time improve the environment for their children´s future.

If you are interested in M´bao 2011, then complete the entry form in the Information Leaflet and email it to the address shown by 1 February 2011. Details about the accommodation available and costs, will be shown soon on the KSF website.

See you there ?
