Information Bulletin 4 for the 2012 IDBF Club Crew World Championships

13 June 2012
12 June 2012

Dear Colleagues,

Please find attached Info Bulletin No. 4 (Technical) for the CCWC in Hong Kong, plus PDFs for the Regatta Time-Table (5 days); a Summary of the Competition Classes and their format, together with the appropriate Medals Presentations and the final list of Crews Entries by Competition Class. PLEASE READ ALL THE DOCUMENTS FULLY AND CAREFULLY. The Time-table is still subject to minor alteration and will be confirmed in the Daily Race Programme

Please check the entries list to ensure that you are shown for the competitions you have been sanctioned for. Just check the columns on the right of each page as the ´competitions entered section´ has not necessarily been updated. The column entries are correct, as at the 8 June 2012. Those crews shown in Red have yet to visit the IDBF Data Base !

Any queries on entries, then please come back to me but note that any agreed changes will appear in the Daily Race Programme, which I hope to send to you a week before the first Racing Day of the Champs.

Any changes made from now will also have to be notified to the Team Managers meeting at 1400 hours on Tuesday 3 July 2012. At that time any withdrawals from any of the competitions must also be made.

The IDBF Data Base is open to you until 30 June 12 for you to enter Names etc on to your Team List and to add any competitor photographs or complete and download Declarations and Crew Lists, as appropriate.

Changes to entries or Late Entries can no longer be made on the Data Base but can be submitted to ccwcentry[at]idbf.org, for consideration by the IDBF Competition & Technical Commission Chairman, Mike Thomas and myself.

This CCWC will be the largest World Champs held so far. The time- table is very tight in places with 5 minute intervals between races and given the restricted marshalling area facilities and the water conditions that can arise in Victoria Harbour, it is essential that everyone works together, crews and officials, to make it a success, particularly when it comes to crews marshalling and embarking before their races.

For those of your Club Members who are not in Hong Kong, we are planning to show the whole CCWC live by web cast, via Live Stream who are based in the USA. You should go to www.idbfdragonboat.tv, www.idbf.org or www.livestream.com to gain access to the live coverage during the racing hours shown in the Regatta Time Table.

Let us all make sure that we make the event worthy of the title ´World Championship´ and show the world´s media Dragon Boating at its best !

With best wishes for a successful event for your Club and Crews,

Mike Haslam
IDBF Executive President
